It's a simple question. What's the least expensive way to own a car with a gated shifter? That's the only requirement: manual, shifter is gated. Preferably stock.

"Runs but needs service". What kind of service? If it's an oil change, no problem. Something tells me it's not an oil change...

The cheapest way costs you $0. Just whore yourself out on the trail for a few years. I mean...sure, there'd be some psyche scarring, and tastes, smells, and tissue damage you'd never be able to forget or heal from. But...New(as much as possible...) gated shifter Ferrari! So who cares, right?

It's probably an "everything" type service.

This is one of those, "if you have to ask, it's too much."
That's the Mondial 8, isn't it? One of The Worst Cars of the 1980's .

Damn, part of that retarded generation that can't read and only looks at flashing or shiny objects.
I was going to say Ferrari Mondial, but someone beat me to it.

If you already own a manual car, the cheapest way would be to retrofit it with a shift gate plate. Machine slots in a plate of the metal of your choice, remove shifter boot and shift knob, install plate, replace knob. I am sure I have seen this done somewhere, but the correct search terms escape me at the moment. Edit: googling shift plate gate shows that there are some aftermarket versions, depending on your car.

I've always disagreed. Sure, the power is bleh, and it's the redheaded stepchild of the family. But. This is a 2 door, mid engined, v8, 4 seat, manual Ferrari. For less than 20 grand. That sounds like a good deal in my book.
